Nothing Mamdani promised the people is coming to fruition. The “of the people, by the people and for the people” little speech sounds good during campaigning but is NEVER applied once a socialist wins. It’s the people that suffer when they find out that rhetoric was just fluff and was never intended to be part of the equation. A socialist/communist never tells the truth. They say what they think the people want to hear and then do the opposite when the time arises.
I’m glad justices Alito and Thomas are not retiring just yet. We need their wisdom and logic and, of course, their votes. They’re going to be hard to replace. I heard Ted Cruz said that when he retires from Congress he would be interested in something like becoming the DOJ AG or a justice on the SC. Todd Blanche just got sworn in so that’s out but if there was an opening on the SC, he’d be good. He has a strong background in law before he was in Congress, including as AG in Texas and clerkship in the SC for Rehnquist. He would vote for all the right reasons and wouldn’t play games. He’s well-liked in Congress. I don’t think he can be “bought”.
